I am a forty-something tech, art and media enthusiast living currently in Finland. I am the Managing Director of Kiinteistö OY Kaapelitalo. The company renovates old industrial buildings for cultural use. The company has an annual turnover of approx. 5,6 million euros and it is entirely owned by the City of Helsinki. We currently manage two cultural centers: Kaapelitehdas, an old Nokia cable factory building (www.kaapelitehdas.fi) and Suvilahti (www.suvilahti.fi), an old power plant. I serve also as a board member of DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival (www.docpoint.info) and of the Finnish Institute in France (www.institut-finlandais.asso.fr). Previously, I worked as Deputy Director at Aalto University‘s unit of EIT Digital.
My background is two-folded: I have worked and studied in the cultural sector as well as in the field of technology. I am passionate about art, technology and business and my strengths lie in pushing new ideas forward, in building new initiatives and in managing projects in these areas. In addition, I enjoy doing scientific research as well as public speaking. I am one hundred percent a team player and enjoy working with new people. I have a doctorate in marketing and master’s degrees in computer science and filmmaking.
I am a francophile (my wife is French ;-)) and the father of three lovely daughters. I enjoy reading, carpentry and spending time in the Finnish archipelago. I have a weakness for tiramisu, French cheese and good red wine.
